READ Program |
For our youngest book
lovers, the winter storytime session has resumed on Fridays at 11:00. Grandparents, please note, this is a fun and
free thing to do with your grandchildren.
Your children will thank you. And
then, for those who are in school (and a few of us oldies), visit the library
on February 9th at 4:00 for a fun and hilarious music program with the Okee
Dokee Brothers. Oh, and for the artist
in everyone, we will have a hands-on art program at 3:30 on February 28th.
Monkey With a Tool Belt |
It doesn't stop
there. For the oldies over 18, remember
that you can still register for our Hot Reads program and win big prizes! Right now the afghan is vying with the
entertainment basket as the prize of choice.
Don't forget those fantastic noon Brown Bag programs: John Latimer our funky phenologist on Feb.
9th and an exciting Book Lover's Tea on February 16th with author Chris Monroe
as our featured guest. BTW, another
grandparent tip: Chris Monroe writes great books and will have some for sale at
the Tea.
Love Your Library Logo |
In addition, the Friends
of the Library are launching a "Love Your Library" fundraising
campaign in February. It's pretty
low-key and easy. If you want to help
them out, just check out the red envelopes at the main desk, pop in your money,
and leave it with the desk staff. The
Friends will thank you. And, if you are
wondering just what they do, join their group for a whopping $5.00 and get all
their news. I have to say that their
e-mail reminders for library programs have certainly boosted our attendance.
So, remember not only
to read in February but also to LOVE YOUR LIBRARY.
